The Power of Play: Our 2024 Support for CCF

2024

At So Connect, we believe that sometimes the most profound healing happens through the simplest of actions, like play. In 2024, we proudly supported the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) by donating a carefully selected range of items to their vital Therapeutic Play Programme.

For children navigating the complex and often overwhelming world of cancer treatment, play is much more than just a pastime, it is a language. CCF’s dedicated Child Life Therapists and Play Personnel use therapeutic play to help young patients express their emotions, make sense of their medical experiences, and cope with the stress of hospital stays.

To support this incredible work, our team donated specific tools designed for sensory engagement, creative expression, and medical play. Our contributions included:

  • Sensory Materials: Toki clay, kinetic sand, and a slime-making kit to help alleviate anxiety and offer soothing, tactile relief.

  • Sand Tray Play Therapy Premium Starter Kit: A specialized therapeutic tool that gives children a safe, non-verbal way to build their internal worlds, express complex feelings, and process trauma.

  • Medical Play Items: Real plasters, which children often use on medical dolls to role-play, understand, and feel more in control of their own upcoming procedures.

  • LEGO Classic 10698 Large Creative Brick Box: To encourage imagination, constructive building, and offer a comforting sense of normalcy and distraction.

Knowing that these items provided the tangible tools these young heroes needed to express their fears, find comfort, and experience genuine moments of joy is something the So Connect team holds close to our hearts. It was a deeply meaningful step in our ongoing commitment to community support.
